Dave Ryan is the Founder and Managing Director of CompensationGPS. He brings over thirty years of experience to designing and implementing compensation, performance management and benefit programs for a diverse set of clients. As a principal consultant, he assists company owners, Boards and senior management, with the design, implementation and governance of performance based compensation programs.
Prior to founding CompensationGPS in 2006, Dave advised the Board Compensation Committees and led the executive and global compensation functions at Black & Decker and Pitney Bowes. Additionally he was responsible for compensation and benefits consulting services for the Connecticut area offices of Ernst & Young, LLP. At Ernst & Young, Dave served a broad range of public and private companies including high-tech, financial services, energy, industrial, not-for-profit and consumer products.
Dave presents to business groups on U.S. and global compensation trends. His speaking engagements include presentations on new compensation practice developments and best practices to the Business Valuation and the Government Contractor Committees of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) as well as lecturing as a Visiting Instructor on compensation and benefits for Notre Dame of Maryland University. Dave has also published articles on compensation management for the MACPA quarterly publication Statement.
Dave Ryan earned a B.S. in Accounting at the University of Connecticut and a Juris Doctorate at The Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. As a retired member of the Connecticut and Missouri Bars, and a Certified Public Accountant (retired), he brings a unique blend of business management, legal, tax, accounting, and consulting skills to each client engagement.
